Title: Forane 516A: Very-Low GWP R-134a Replacement Refrigerant
Description: Regulations across the globe are shifting refrigerant standards to low-GWP alternatives and pushing energy efficiency standards to higher levels. Simultaneously, electrification efforts are driving more widespread adoption of heat pumps to replace fossil-fuel powered furnaces and boilers. To support these transition efforts Arkema has developed a very-low GWP refrigerant, Forane 516A, to replace R-134a in low/medium temperature applications in refrigeration, chillers, air conditioning, and heat pumps. Forane 516A provides a 90% GWP reduction while offering potential energy savings over R-134a and other alternatives.
